Pedri blames referee for Barcelona’s first league defeat
Barcelona midfielder Pedro González López has said that match officials were responsible for Barcelona’s first league defeat of the 2024/2025 season.
According to a statement obtained from BarcaUniversal’s X handle, Pedri, speaking after the game, questioned the referee’s decisions for not awarding Barcelona a penalty and allowing Osasuna’s second goal to stand.
“There was a very clear foul on Pau Víctor before their second goal, and there was a very clear penalty on Lamine. The referee has not been fair to us.”
The Blaugrana had a brilliant start to the season, winning all seven league games before suffering Saturday’s 4-2 defeat to Osasuna.
Barcelona will host Young Boys on Tuesday, 1st October, in their second Champions League match, after losing to Monaco away in their Champions League opener earlier this month.
