Street Foodz Naija returns for fifth season
The Food Bay TV has partnered with the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development to bring back the reality TV show, Street Foodz Naija.
Themed ‘Love and Street Food’, this year’s edition is set to explore the connection between culinary traditions and human relationships.
In this season of the show, the winner will take home a grand prize of N10m. Additionally, 14 other contestants will receive scholarships from the Hospitality Business School, SME Toolkit, as well as other consolation prizes.
During a press briefing held during the week, the CEO of Food Bay TV, Femi Ogundoro, noted that aside from the monetary rewards, contestants would gain significant exposure and mentorship.
“Street Food Naija is a platform that is particularly close to my heart because we have a lot of Nigerians relying on these individuals who are often not respected. By virtue of this competition, we have been able to reposition how they are perceived. It is not just about money; it is about experience, mentorship, and empowerment even after the show,” he said.
One of the judges for this season, Chef Tolani Tayo-Osikoya, popularly known as Diary of a Kitchen Lover, expressed her excitement about being a judge again.
She said, “This is my second year as a judge on the show, and Street Food has my heart. People look down on street food so much, yet we consume it a lot. In this season, I am looking at many aspects such as street food aesthetics and creativity. I am also looking forward to watching people cook and have fun.”
Other judges on the show include Chinonso Egemba, aka Aproko Doctor; food critic, Opeyemi Famakin; and influencer, Eniolaoluwa Adeoluwa.
